The Noise of Time is a 2016 novel by English author Julian Barnes.[1][2][3][4][5] It concerns the life of Dmitri Shostakovich, a Russian composer of Soviet times.

作者：（英國）朱利安?巴恩斯（1946—）,英國當代著名作家。父母皆為法語教師，哥哥在牛津大學教授哲學，妻子帕特?凱伐納是著名的文學經紀人。巴恩斯畢業於牛津大學，曾參與《牛津英語辭典》的編纂工作，做過多年的文學編輯和評論家。「聰明」是巴恩斯作品的一貫標識。八十年代他以突破性之作《福樓拜的鸚鵡》入圍布克獎決選，躋身英國文壇一流作家之列。此后，三進布克獎決選，並於2011年憑借《終結的感覺》贏得大獎，同年獲大衛?柯恩英國文學終身成就獎。2016年入選美國文學藝術學院，成為...的一位外國榮譽成員。巴恩斯也深得法國讀者的好感，他是唯一一位同時獲得法國梅第奇獎和費米娜獎的作家，並先后榮獲法國文化部頒發的文學藝術騎士、軍官、司令勛章，2017年榮獲法國總統頒發的法國榮譽軍團勛章。

德米特里·德米特里耶維奇·蕭士塔高維奇（俄語：Дмитрий Дмитриевич Шостакович，1906年9月25日－1975年8月9日），前蘇聯時期俄國作曲家。他一生大部份時間都留在蘇聯，但同時也是當年少數名氣能傳至西方世界的作曲家，被譽為是二十世紀其中一位最重要的作曲家。
