前陣子「談一下utopian的反義字（antonyms）「
去年諾貝爾獎頒給Coetzee時說《恥》/《恥辱》這本小說：

比較遺憾的是它沒有列常用來作「發語辭」（[as form of address]）。我想起應該將

由諾貝爾文學獎得主柯慈親自簽字授權，導演王小棣與拙劇團團長李小平聯手改編柯慈小說《屈辱》的文學劇場，將於8月19日、20日，在華山烏梅劇院上演。藉由戲劇表演、演講、小說家讀劇等不同形式的交錯「互引」，如同在舞台上進行電影剪輯，呈現出文本的多元面貌，並與當代台灣社會對話。
王小棣曾製作「閱讀時光」系列，將朱天文、駱以軍、夏曼・藍波安等小說家作品改編為戲劇，對文學改編戲劇有豐富經驗與想法。她表示，柯慈雖是南非作家，書中對族群、性別等衝突的刻畫，讓身處台灣的她深感共鳴。王小棣曾以《屈辱》作為Sutio Q 表演課堂上的教材，汲取文本中的性別、族群議題，帶入對台灣社會的反思及觀照，邀請學生在表演中探索對自己的已知與未知，透過集體發展、共同創作演出戲段。
談及與柯慈簽授權改編合約，王小棣如同小粉絲般，興奮地分享柯慈的親筆簽名，「上一次這樣興奮是在路上偶遇江蕙。」對於本次作品的改編，柯慈也非常關注，在通信中主動要求觀看烏梅劇場的照片。
拙劇團團長李小平為第15屆國家文藝獎得主，擅長從傳統戲曲出發，結合現代劇場整體概念，為台灣戲曲開創新風貌。本次出演《屈辱》劇中的教授一角，他認為小說文字精闢，意念的開展到延伸僅有零秒，「人的生命有時也不比書中的情況來得舒展，被矛盾裹纏的時候，又生出如梅子般酸、澀滋味豐富的情慾。」
本次文學劇場形式繁複，首日的演出（8/19）邀請社會學者范雲、文化研究學者張小虹講座，分別就戲段中的歷史及社會實境，展開性別與省籍、族群的深度探討深。
8/20（四）則以讀劇演出，嘗試從文學角度解構經典作品。由李小平精選書中精彩章節，邀請台灣作家以讀劇形式演繹，探尋小說與表演間互動的可能樣貌，召喚蘊藏在字裡行間的無限想像。
