一九五七年讀碩士班時，他曾陪孔德成老師訪問日本，擔任口譯。我不禁好奇問道：「陪孔子的後代到日本，有沒有什麼特別有趣的事？」鄭老師回說：「鹽谷溫是撰寫中國文學史的第一個人，當時年紀很大了，看到孔先生就當場跪下去。」由此可見，日本老一輩漢學家對於儒家的衷心景仰。

不知道為什麼又看不到桌面，總是清理不乾淨，像經歷一場土石流，桌上亂石崩雲，有王汎森院士的《古史辨運動的興起》，吳鳴的《秋光拾得》、《張清吉先生紀念文集》等書稿⋯⋯。只有眼前路，沒有身後身。
